Backgrinding and dicing are processes in the manufacturing of integrated circuits (ICs). In these processes, ultra-pure water is used to wash away fine silica particles and other substances that adhere to the wafers, resulting in industrial wastewater that is discharged. Typically, this wastewater contains ultra-pure water mixed with fine silica particles, but sometimes grinding fluid may also be present. The removal of these fine silica particles is an essential treatment for the recycling and reuse of this large volume of industrial wastewater. Eco-Eco Measures: Energy Saving Case of Oil-Water Separation System

No initial costs required! Separates oil and sludge contained in wastewater to nearly zero!

At our factory, we process automotive parts. The wastewater generated during manufacturing contains oil components such as machining oil, which we used to have disposed of by a waste disposal company. With strict cost reduction demands from our customers, we wanted to reduce the costs associated with wastewater treatment. We learned that an oil-water separation system could separate (remove) the oil and sludge contained in the wastewater to nearly zero, so we first installed a demo unit in-house to verify its effectiveness. As a result of the verification, it was found that we could remove oil components down to about 1/100.
